Introducing Chickpea
This is Chickpea, he's my latest children's book character and my first attempt at both writing and illustrating. He's off to the publishers soon and who knows what will happen, but he's taught me a lot along the way. Good luck Chickpea!
He's just a ball of fluff,
Fluffy as a woolly cloud,
Or a powder puff.
Chickpea's wings are very small,
Too small for him to fly,
But Chickpea doesn't mind at all,

Illustrators Australia Bronze Award
I'm very excited to have won a bronze award for "White-faced Heron" in the Unpublished category of the Illustrators Australia Awards. All results will be presented in the February/March 2011 issue of Australian Creative Magazine.

Monster
I love this new picture book, it's written by Andrew Daddo, illustrated by the wonderful Bruce Whatley and published by Harper Collins. The illustrations are beautiful and the story has a twist at the end which made me laugh out loud! A new source of inspiration for me as I'm currently in the process of writing and illustrating my own picture book. More posts about that in the future.
